Feed Your Hair: Black Tea for Hair Loss

By  January 04, 2012

Black Tea is highly beneficial for the hair and has a bit more caffeine than a cup of coffee. Don’t worry, this caffeine is good for your hair and blocks dihydrotestosterone (DHT) from damaging the hair.

DHT is very similar to testosterone. Both men and women have levels of testosterone and the hormonal process of testosterone converting to DHT is what causes hair loss, by harming the hair follicles.

Benefits of Black Tea
♨ known to reduce shedding and breakage
♨ contains more caffeine than a cup of coffee, which caffeine inhibits DHT (the hormone that is responsible for hair loss)
♨ can potentially darken the hair or enhance your natural highlights
♨ can add shine, luster and softness to the hair
♨ can increase the thickness of your hair

Try This:
♨Brew some black tea and add to your ACV rinse, or you could simply do a black tea rinse.
♨Add some brewed (and cooled) black tea to your daily hair moisturizing spray. A little mix of water, black tea and veggie glycerin may benefit the overall health of your hair.
♨Rinsing your hair with black tea can also help darken the hair and add shine and luster. To add sheen or shine to the hair, people generally brew two cups of black tea and rinse dampened shampoo hair. The tea rinse also helps increase the bulk of hair, slows down hair fall and can allegedly enhance hair growth.

I don’t know about you guys, but I just may try this black tea rinse or add a little to my spray bottle, amongst other things!
