During the fall, I like to train for a half marathons. It’s a perfect distance for the intermediate runner who is serious about regular exercise but not so into the time consuming 18-mile training runs that go along with marathons. Still, the 90 minutes it takes to bang out a 9-mile long run on Saturday requires entertainment to get through it alone. While a training partner may work for some people, I like to use my long runs for “me time.”
You know music helps you train harder but save your workout playlist exclusively for sweat sessions for maximum help. New music is always a good idea for motivation but make sure you listen to each track a few times before listening to it while exercising for the most benefit.
