Top Outdoor Summer Workouts

With summer now in full swing, the heat is effecting your workouts, the vacations are expanding your waistlines and you’re wearing next to nothing at the beach. It’s like the perfect storm for how not to rock a bikini with confidence. Here are the top outdoor summer workouts to make sure this doesn’t happen to you!

You Partied Too Much Last Weekend

Cardio, cardio, cardio! Burn off those extra calories your body is storing from the binge-fest before they get stored as fat. The highest calorie burning workouts are going to be cardio and interval based. Wake up extra early to beat the heat with a 50 minute interval session like my favorite 10:20:30 sprint, jog, walk workout. You can run pretty much anywhere making it the excuse-proof workout to fit in on a vacation. This workout is best done outside and not on a treadmill.

You Want Six Pack Abs for the Beach

If you haven’t yet, check out Stand Up Paddle boarding for an intense core and balancing workout. This trend has taken off in recent years making it fairly easy to find a company nearby who provides this workout. The number of calories burned will vary depending on your intensity but will range between 250-700/hour. Celebrities like Jennifer Aniston and Kate Hudson are fans.

You Want an Affordable Personal Trainer

If you are really looking for a longer term commitment and are prepared to spend a little bit of money, sign up for a 4-6 weeks outdoor bootcamp. Light on equipment, you’ll not only meet new friends but you will have 2-5 workouts a week to commit yourself to.
